Trouncing off to the Bintulu Kite Festival 08.2007
We were at the annual International Bintulu Kite Festival again this year, our second since having read about it after we came back. Bintulu is a nice small town known primarily for it's petrochemical industry in the form of MLNGs and fertiliser making complexes. To a lesser extent the Similajau National Park, Taman Tumbina and others. These days it's the kite festival, University Pertanian Malaysia campus et al.

We have family in Bintulu ... Suriya married a Bintulu lawyer Syed Khairul and now with two children of their own. Bintulu is no Shah Alam or KL but a short spell in a small town is good for everyone. Alya is 4 years old and is a natural in front of the camera. Haikal is 1 year old to the month, the last time we were in Bintulu he was still kicking around in his Mommy's tummy.
Though the visit was short both Ali and Aisya had ample time running around the house. Kids warm up to each other rather fast especially so these.

Roshdan is also here in Bintulu working at the Petronas LNG, he's been here for almost 3 years. There's plenty pf reason for us to traverse to Bintulu ... we've got relatives there.
