Easter Weekend in 't Loo

For the year's first long weekend, combining Good Friday and Easter, Mommy arranged a five day Spring's timeout at Landal's bungalow park in 't Loo somewhere near Oldebroek not too far off from Zwolle.

Left Assen Friday midmorning on the N371 with a stop in Giethoorn ... dubbed Venice of Holland (perhaps only for those who have not been to Venice!). Still in the low season we must have been the only few early local visitors, at it's peak in summertime you normally can't even walk around the village without literally bumping into other tourist ... we had the walkways to ourselves that morning aside from a few German and Spanish visitors.

Still early in the season, the boating activity in the village canals were very quite. Typical attractions like small family run museums and knick-knack shops weren't open either. Even the usual Friesland makciks making laces in traditional attire were nowhere to be seen, what we saw were mostly locals running about in preparation for the coming season. We did have a nice long lunch at one of the cafes ... pannenkoeke for Ali and Aisya. Ali made friends with a German boy named Max and several Spaniards sitting at the next table.

After lunch we drove ahead to 't Loo via Vollenhove, Kraggenburg and Kampen.
